A person died Saturday while under the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at CoreCivic’s Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, California, according to Daylight San Diego.

CoreCivic confirmed the death to Daylight in an email, saying that a staff member found the person in detention unresponsive in one of the housing units just after 11:30 a.m. After staff attempted life-saving measures, and emergency medical services were called, the person was declared deceased at the facility.

ICE has not released a press statement regarding the death as of Tuesday, 12:00 a.m. This death comes just a day after the death of 46-year-old Luis Sandoval, who died Friday under ICE custody in Georgia.

There have been three ICE detention deaths this month that we know of. Earlier this month, 56-year-old Emiliano Andrade-Covarrubias died while under ICE custody in Texas.

This is a developing story.
